The Magic Forest Keepers is a heartwarming story of love, family, and the lessons we've learned together. Inspired by our own family of six children, each character reflects one of us and the experiences we've shared. Set in the Norwegian wilderness, the book follows the Magic Forest Keepers, guardians of the forest and its wildlife.

The first illustration was created by Kari 25 years ago, and with each new child, she added another character to the tale. This book is the first in a planned series that will continue to explore the lives of the mushroom people in The Magic Forest Keepers.

"A refreshingly new book taking you on the journey into the Norwegian forest. My son is 3 and a half and I would say that’s the perfect starting age for this book. Not only was the story really interesting but Freddie absolutely loved looking at all the illustrations and learning about all the different mushrooms. I sometimes think the types of books me and my son read together can get quite ‘samey’ and all be very similar, but this book was nothing like we have read before. It was so lovely to read something so fresh and exciting. Kari and Victoria are such lovely women and I loved that the story was written so personal to them, and touched on their own personal lives. Which made it feel all that more special. What a lovely thing to write a book as a mother and daughter and I would honestly recommend this book to anyone with school age kids and older. As a mother and Clinical Neuropsychologist, I believe storytelling is a powerful tool for shaping behaviour and supporting childhood development. Through my illustrations, I aim to impart essential concepts such as empathy, solidarity, love, peace, harmony, balance, and kindness to young minds. My goal is to help children navigate daily challenges and build resilience for the future.


Working with my youngest ‘Forest Keeper’ Victoria has been an absolute pleasure. Her expertise in creative production has been instrumental in bringing this project to life.

From our childhood kitchen table to your bookshelf! I hope this story brings you as much joy as it brought us growing up. This project is a tribute to the spirit of children; their love for life, search for magic, and boundless imagination - and making it truly made me feel that way.

As an aspiring psychologist, merging my passion for psychology with my love for storytelling has been immensely fulfilling. By crafting characters that embody important human values whilst embracing a playful, childlike perspective, we hope to offer a joyful escape for readers big and small.
